Julia Roberts has created an eco-friendly wonderland for her family, as seen in DailyMail.com's exclusive aerial images of her sprawling two neighboring properties in Malibu.

The mother-of-three plunked down $7 million to buy the house across the street from her $9.5 million clifftop custom-built home in 2016 – sparking rumors that she and her cinematographer husband Danny Moder were 'consciously uncoupling'. 

But three years later, it's evident the 51-year-old actress and Danny, 50, are very much still together and have created an eco and kid-friendly wonderland across their two properties.

Despite her A-list lifestyle, the Oscar-winner clearly enjoys pottering around her home with lush gardens featuring native species, vegetable patches, greenhouses, solar panels and two beehives overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 

Julia is said to be the green thumb of the family, evident with her gardens and greenhouses, but there's still plenty of space on her large acreage for her children 14-year-old twins Hazel, 14, and Phinnaeus and Henry, 11,  to call their own.

Their sports-loving dad, a cameraman best known for his work on SoCal crime series Animal Kingdom, has installed a private skate park for the family on the second property that looks startling similar to the one their close friend Brad Pitt built in his backyard for his own kids.

The couple's first house, which was bought in 2003, has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a full-size tennis court and mini soccer field.

'The Moder-Roberts house is a hive of activity. All the local kids come over to use the skate park,' a member of the close-knit Malibu community, who asked to remain anonymous, told DailyMail.com. 

They added: 'Julia and Danny have a ''the more the merrier'' mentality. They're extremely welcoming.'

And the same invitation to enjoy Julia and Danny's incredible property apparently extends to adult members of the family's friendship circle, which is mostly made up of trusted members of Danny's Malibu surfer crew.

Danny and Julia's compound is dotted with intimate entertaining areas, including a sunken barbecue and wood-fire pizza oven set-up.

Indeed, it's believed they bought the second, 1950s ranch-style house three years ago as a way to house more of their interstate friends. There's also a quirky yurt, seemingly built for camping under the stars. 

'Julia might seem like an extremely private person but she has a large circle of friends, mainly through her husband,' the source added.

He filed for divorce a little over a year later, and after it was finalized, he and Julia wed on July 4, 2002, at her ranch Taos, New Mexico. They continued: 'She prefers to spend time with them over the Hollywood types, and her house is a revolving door of guys in wetsuits with surfboards under their arms. Julia wouldn't have it any other way.'

The family's outdoorsy lifestyle is complete with a small pool on the patio of their main household, but it's widely known that most of the wave-loving clan, who count pro surfer Kelly Slater as one of their closest pals - prefer getting out in the ocean below them.

'You know what? He's an awesome human being. We have so much fun,' she gushed to Extra.

In 2017, she told Harper's Bazaar U.K. that before Danny came into her life, she was a 'selfish little brat, running around making films. I was my priority.' But that meeting her 'person' changed everything.

'When I think about what makes my life my life, and just makes sense, and just shines inside of me, it's him. Everything has come from that.'

The Hollywood superstar owns adjacent mansions in the A-list seaside retreat, having purchased a $7 million ranch-style house in 2015 which is a stone's throw from her long-time main residence, a 5-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion which she bought for $6.4 million in 2003

The second property is noticeably less maintained and its garden appears to have fallen into a state of disrepair
