Growing Garlic? Here's When to Plant It for the Best Harvest
19/09/2023

Growing garlic is easy and requires little effort. There are different types of garlic suited for different climates. Hardneck garlic is best for cold climates, while softneck garlic is suited for warmer regions. Garlic should be planted in the mid-fall, around the same time as other fall bulbs. It requires full sun and well-draining soil with a pH between 6 to 7. Garlic should be spaced a few inches apart in rows. Scapes, the stems that grow from the bulbs, should be trimmed to promote bulb growth. Harvesting should be done when the leaves start to turn yellow or brown. To store garlic, cut off the tops and store in a cool, dry place.
